The blade has two tangs that crate a guard that stick out near the pivot, helping to keep your hand on the handle, and not slipping down onto the blade.

The handle itself is made from Black Anodized Aluminum and features the marines EGA logo. The deep slice in the top of the handle is there for cutting seatbelts, line or paracord while a pointed pommel on the end of the handle will quickly stun an assailant as well as break glass easily in the event you need to get out of a vehicle by any means possible and as quickly as possible.
