Spyderco C127GPOR Item Description:This is the Spyderco Urban Slipit Knife, model C127GPOR. Due to various laws being set up worldwide that restrict locking knives, this range of knives was developed to deal with this issue while still being a great knife.
Spyderco developed a range of knives that do not lock open, and called them slipits.
These are in fact functionally the same as a Clipit knife, but they do not have the locking blades. Instead they used a notched slip joint system that is located at the pivot point.
If you close the blade it encounters resistance which is similar to slip-jointed pen knives.
The Wharncliffe blade measures 2.5 inches and is made from VG-10 stainless steel as a plain edge with the Spyderco hole built in.
Spyderco work hard to keep all parties happy and what you see is a brilliant result.
The handle is made from Orange colored G-10 laminate. They include choils for finger grip points and ensure a good level of grip is assured when used.
It comes with a wire pocket clip that allows you to store the knife left or right handed in the tip-up position.
