This really handsome looking knife is the Paul Chen Hanwei Rock Creek Blesbok Skinner knife, model number KH2509. Really well made with a reinforced Brown leather sheath, it is for the more discerning knife owner who prefers to have the best at his side.

The Skinner knife has a 3/16 inch thick flat ground trailing-point blade that has been made using HWS-1K steel – a high alloy steel proprietary to Hanwei that delivers a Rockwell hardness rating of 58-60 Hrc on the edge and also exhibits excellent anti-corrosion properties. The blade is easy to sharpen and holds a sharp edge for long periods of time.

There is a raised thumb ramp on the back of the blade to give greater control during use as well as a finger guard that doubles up as a curved choil for additional grip and firm hand placement. The guard and also the pommel are made using investment castings cast in stainless steel.

The through-tangs are solid enough for good grip and terminate in a short thread at the butt. The sheath is made in a dark tanned leather with stainless steel reinforcing sections at the wear points as well as a strap and snap fastener system.
