The Gerber GR05898 Ridge knife got its name because of the ridge in the handle, that protects you from the blade edge and tip when the knife is closed.

Comes with a Mid Frame lock which is similar to the Liner Lock, the difference being it is harder to release by accident because the handle frame wraps completely around.
