Measuring 12 inches overall, this 4000S hatchet features a hatchet head made using 420HC high Carbon grade stainless steel that measures 5 ½ inches x 2 ¾ inches. The head is heat treated an annealed to deliver a Rockwell hardness rating of around 53 Rc. The edge is hand finished, honed to perfection and polished to give you a very sharp cutting edge.

The head also has a stainless steel roll pin passing through the head and handle as a further security measure to keep it in place during use – nobody wants a hatchet head flying through the air – thankfully Condor have thought of everything.

Condor's “Vacuum Assist Investment Casting” manufacturing system ensures sheer strength and low costs can be passed on to the customer with no loss in quality. The wedge that holds the head to the handle is actually part of the casting (CIP – cast-in-place).
