Columbia River 1141 Item Description:Introducing the Columbia River Elishewitz Scarab 1141. A truly beautiful knife to own, or even to give to someone as a gift. Either way no matter who owns this knife, you will certainly not be disappointed.
In Egyptian times the scarab beetle represented resurrection and renewal and was represented in art and jewelry as a talisman of good fortune. Knife maker Allen Elishewitz designs and created a vast range of knives with Egyptian themed names.
This knife features a 3.25” blade made from AUS8 stainless steel, Rockwell hardness of 58-59 in a bead blast finish. The Scarab also has the outburst assisted opening mechanism, which allows the blade to spring open instantly after you have opened the blade, by approximately 30 degrees. Sometimes people may prefer opening their knife with just one hand using the custom Elishewitz ramped thumb stud.
If that is something that you prefer to do then just remove the outburst mechanism and you have your one handed opening knife at your disposal. What ever decision you decide to do, you will still be very satisfied with this knife.
This knife has the patented LAWKS safety lock which allows you to convert your folder into a virtual fixed blade when in use. Simply slide the lever forward to lock, and slide it back to enable easy one hand closing. What finishes the knife off is the gold Elishewitz logo on the blade.
