Made in Japan using their infamous San Mai III stainless steel, the 7 1/8 inch blade on this 13 inch dagger is formed into a Tanto style and delivers fantastic strength at the tip.
The Tanto style is known to be a very tough style and has been used in traditional fighting and hunting knives for years. Cold Steel have sharpened both edges on this knife to a razor sharp edge ensuring you can pierce and cut with total ease. You can cut a 180 degree arc with total disregard to anything else. It simply performs.
The 5 ½ inch handle has a tough, tapered Black Kray-Ex wrap with an oval flattened grip section that has been proven to offer the best in long term grip and anti-roll characteristics when gripped in your hand. You need to rely 100% on your knife and the Tai Pan goes above and beyond to deliver this experience to you.
The 13D even comes with a Tsuba and Bolster make using the same tough 300 series San Mai II steel, helping further to enhance quality and safety along the way. At the rear of the knife, the butt end is tapered slightly to help enhance the effects you get when using the pommel as a stun weapon.
Keeping all this power in check is one thing. Keeping it safe when not in use is another. Cold Steel knew instinctively what to do. The CS13D Tai Pan comes with a very well made Black leather sheath.
