Case Slimline Trapper Rough Black 4 1-8 Gum Fuddy CA18228

This is a Case slimline Trapper with a difference. It is the CA18228 and is a premium grade knife with handle features that symbolize handles from World War II. When people had to make do with whatever resources they had, Case made the most and delivered some magical knives.

The handle material is named Rough Black. It's designed to emulate the Gum Fuddy knives that Case made in the 1940's. During the war, materials became very scarce and knife manufacturers raced to try and find whatever materials they could. They made knives with a Black handle and a jigged rough finish.

The knife community quickly gave these knives the name Gum Fuddy, and it has stuck ever since. Case wanted to reinvigorate the name so people can once again enjoy it's fondness.

This slimline Trapper measuring 4 1/8 inches when closed has the pattern number 61048SS and has a long and slender stainless steel Clip blade made using Tru-sharp surgical stainless steel. A script style Case logo is stamped near the blade hinge. The steel has the ability to retain a sharp edge for long periods of time as well as fend off rust and corrosion.

The handle is Black synthetic material which has been jigged to replicate the 1940's knives. It incorporates a polished Nickel Silver inlay shield. There are also two polished Nickel Silver bolsters, one sat at either end, and these do a wonderful job of completing the overall design, making it very appealing.

The Case CA18228 slimline Trapper rough Black series knife is a nice knife to own and weighs just 0.15 lbs.
