Case 13140 Item Description:You are looking at something quite special. It is the Case tiny Trapper knife with Wharncliffe blade and Clip blade. Model number 13140 and pattern number 62154W SS. The handle is a wonderfully dark and smooth Red bone material.
This is an extremely striking Case knife. The Red bone handle contrasts with the diamond shaped Case inlay shield and polished Nickel Silver bolsters. The bone is held to the frame using brass pins.
Nobody is entirely sure where the Wharncliffe blade originated from but it is widely understood that lord Wharncliffe of Sheffield, England requested an exceedingly strong blade knife be created, and this is where the name was derived from. Hundreds of years later this style is a firm favorite among Case knife enthusiasts and collectors alike.
The steel on these two blades is Tru-sharp surgical stainless steel. Nail marks are cut into each blade to provide extra traction when opening. This Case knife measures 2 3/8 inches closed and weighs just 1oz.
