Case CA18226 Item Description:From Case knives comes this the Case Canoe rough Black CA18226 knife. This knife is one of a series of 8 rough Black knives that all share the same handle patterning. Each of them being unique and individual.
This knife harks back to the 1940's when Gum Fuddy became a catchphrase adopted by the knife community for knives with handles made by Case as a substitute for more traditional handle materials. This occurred as a result of World War II meaning handle materials had to be diverted elsewhere for the war efforts.
The handle is Black jigged synthetic with an oval shaped Case script style inlay shield. The shield is made from polished Nickel Silver, as are the two bolsters. Then we have the blades. The two blades comprise a Spear blade and a pen blade. Both made from Tru-Sharp steel, offering high edge retention capabilities, and an ability to fend off rust and corrosion for long periods of time.
With Brass pins and liners, this knife offers superb value for money. Measures 2 7/8 inches. Pattern number 62131SS. The Case canoe with rough Black jigging pattern will be forever remembered. 62131SS pattern. 3 5/8" closed. Stainless spear and pen blades. Black jigged synthetic handles with nickel silver bolsters and Case inlay shield.
