Case CA10503 Item Description:This is the Case CA10503 Standard Knives Company Barlow knife, with pattern number 61009SS. It's a handy pocket sized 3 3/8 inch (closed) knife that pays respect to Dean & Elliot Case who founded the Standard Knife Co. in 1901 through to 1903.
Even though the company was only short lived, the death of Elliot Case in 1903 marked the end of the company. The two brothers began selling their knives out of Little Valley, New York and were in the process of hunting for premises to develop the brand further.
Paying tribute, this Barlow knife features the Standard brand inlay shield, a polished Nickel Silver bolster and jigged Brown bone handle. The stainless steel Spear blade is tang stamped with “X-X-X Standard Knife Co. X-X” as a mark of respect for what could have been a fantastic Case family brand.
