Case 06099 Item Description:Here is the Case stag handled Damascus steel medium Stockman knife, model number 6099. It features genuine stag antlers from the Sambar and Chital deer found throughout western India. This stag is used for the handle, which features natural variations in its coloring, so each and every one of these knives is unique. You also get the Case long tail C shield adorning the handle, before being clad with two mirror polished Nickel Silver bolsters.
Damascus steel was a steel that custom knife makers, sword makers many years ago used to use to manufacture the weapons of yesteryear. Throughout the years people have tried to recreate the original Damascus patterns, since the original patterns and instructions were lost.
Since then master forger's have implemented forging processes using many layers of steel as well as various acid etching techniques to ultimately create some very unique versions of Damascus steel with varying patterns within them. Often by twisting steel and cutting through that steel you can create some amazing patterns, as is with this raindrops steel pattern.
The pattern number for this knife is 5347DAM. The length is 3 7/8 inches in length(closed).
This knife has a Clip, Spey and Sheepfoot blade made from Damascus steel. Only 1000 of these knives will be made so this means they will be collectible.
