There is a brushed stainless steel bolster that provides a nice contrast to the handle and blade. There is a lockback mechanism incorporated into the design of this knife so you can be assured the blade is not going to accidentally close on you during use.

The blade is a 2 ¾ inch Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel blade that has a thumb stud on it that allows you to open the blade out using a single hand. This feature is much loved because it's really useful if your other hand is busy, holding something in place while you cut.
