Case 10494 Item Description:You are looking at the Case 10494 Standard Knife Company Barlow knife. A great general purpose knife which pays a special thanks to earlier predecessors.
Those predecessors were Dean and Elliot Case in the early 1900's in Little Valley, New York. If only they knew back then how big the company would grow, they would probably be sitting back with a huge smile on their faces right now,.
This Barlow knife features a 3 7/8 inch spear blade made from extremely sharp and tough stainless steel. It has a fingernail groove cut into it so that the blade can easily be pulled out from it's sleep inside the handle frame when not in use.
At 2.6oz in weight it is quite light so can easily be used all day without causing too much additional fatigue to arms and hands.
The handle is a natural jigged bone that has a polished Nickel Silver “STANDARD” inlay shield set into it (saying thanks to the original company). Then two polished Nickel Silver bolster are set to either end of the knife to complete the outward appearance. The Barlow 10494 from Case is one to treasure.
