Gum Fuddy knives refer to knives made by Case during World War II when materials were hard to source. In their race to find new materials, Case had to use a Black synthetic which they jigged. These knives became known as Gum Fuddy knives. These knives are still known by antique and vintage knife collectors who remember that era. Case wanted to bring back this special pattern and so brought it to eight knife patterns, one of which is this one.
Designed to be as tough as the originals, Case used their inspiration and know how to reproduce the design but using modern materials and craftsmanship. This Peanut knife measures just 2 7/8 inches when it is in the closed position.
It features two Tru-Sharp surgically sharp stainless steel blades that retain a sharp edge as well as fend off rust and corrosion for long periods of time. You get a Clip blade and a Pen blade. The master Clip blade also has a fingernail groove cut into it which aids you when you are opening the blade out from it's closed position.
With pattern number 6220 SS the knife looks superb. You get the dazzling brilliance of the Nickel Silver bolsters and inlay shield and then the rough Black synthetic handle. They work together extremely well and do a great job at being visually appealing.
