The Columbia River Elishewitz Horus 1151 is not a knife you want to mess about with. This is a no nonsense knife, so unless you know what you are doing, I would definitely approach with caution and handle with care.
Not many of you may know, but the word Horus is known in Egyptian as the hawk headed god/lord of the sky. When you take a good look at this knife, you kind of see how it came about to get it's name.
Comes with a 3.125” modified drop point/spear/tanto point blade that is made out of AUS8 Stainless steel and a Rockwell hardness of 56-58. The blade also has a non reflective bead blast finish, which works so well in many ways.
Firstly if you are out hunting, the sun will not reflect off the blade, so this gives you the upper hand in catching your prey. Secondly because of the coating, it will be corrosion resistant, meaning you will not have to buy a new one for a long time.
The Horus also features the Outburst assisted opening mechanism, alongside the custom Elishewitz ramped thumb stud for ambidextrous and one handed opening.
The handle is made from 420J2 stainless steel with a black textured zytel handle which not only provides a really firm and secure grip, but feels comfortable in the palm of your hand as well. Now this is where this knife gets interesting, the inlays on this handle are honey/ gold swirls with a hard CPL composite, this amazing craftsmanship really captures your attention.
