The Imperial Schrade knife company is actually a brand name of Taylor Brands LLC. The same company is the sole manufacturer and distributor of Smith & Wesson knives. The Taylor company was founded in 1975 by Stewart Taylor. Located off Interstate 26 in Kingsport, TN in the heart of the Appalachian mountains, this company operates from a 163,000 square foot distribution center, and continues to evolve with each month that passes. Schrade knives is a brand which has been around since 1904. Sadly, the plant located in Elenville, NY was closed in 2004. Still a firm favorite, Schrade knives can be found everywhere.
