This is the Cold Steel Barong machette 97BA12S. A nimbler version of our Barong machette. We also offer an 18 inch version for those who prefer something heftier – please refer to the 97BA18S in that instance.
The roots of this unique style of this machette can be found in the Philippines, used by the people there, and used in their martial art, the Kali.
It's leaf styled design is excellent for penetration, and tough enough to withstand constant abuse.
12 inches of 1055 grade stainless steel thrusting blade is protected with a baked on Black anti-corrosive coating, and kept safe with a protective Cordura sheath.
The handle is around 5.5 inches long, made from Polypropylene, which gives sufficient grip and comfort during use. It even has a lanyard strapping hole in it for safe carrying or storage.
